DG News Service -Hackers managed to steal a database containing customer credentials and contact information from PR Newswire, a major press release distribution service that's used by tens of thousands of companies and public relations agencies.

The database was discovered on the same hacker server where stolen source code for several Adobe products was recently found, suggesting that the same attackers might be responsible for both incidents, according to Alex Holden, chief information security officer of Hold Security, a company that monitors the Internet underground for stolen business data.

Note that these factors are not "proof" of what search engines use to rank websites, but simply show the characteristics of web pages that tend to rank higher.

This year, Moz surveyed over 120 leading search marketers who provided expert opinions on over 80 ranking factors.

CMS Vulnerable to Hackers Due to Poor Patch Management

According to TechNewsWorld millions of people using content management systems like WordPress and Joomla are vulnerable to security breaches as the vast majority of users are not clued up to security best practice. Zscaler's Michael Sutton comments: ‘awareness that these vulnerabilities exist, awareness that patches exist, and awareness that users need to take the time and effort to patch these vulnerabilities themselves.’

Content management systems like WordPress and Joomla have become popular targets for hackers in recent times because flaws in those systems can be utilized for mischief across literally millions of websites.

WordPress and Joomla are running on over 100 million websites, hence if you're a cybercriminal with a fresh vulnerability to one of those CMS systems in your satchel, you can do some serious damage.
